Ticket Type

Thursday 20 March 2025 |  3.30 - 5.30pm
SAGE Garden 110 Queen Street, Moruya
With Shani Keane from Left Field Farm

This week, Shani Keane from Left Field Farm in Moruya talked about Autumn Bed Preparation - Following on from last weeks planning session, this week we got into the soil and got dirty. The garden bed has been solarised and it's now get it ready for the autumn growing season. We used the broad folk to give the bed some air and fed it with lime powder and Katek a super food that the soil and the worms love. It was fortunate that it rained that night to give the bed a lovely soak. We'll put a good layer (30cm) of mulch before we plant seeds and seedlings.

Alex ESC Sustainable Supervisor,  Michael ESC Youth Development team, and SandraSAGE Education Officer were also present to lend a hand.

This weeks after school snacks included:
In honour of the soil, we'll have chocolate brownies with zucchini, freshly picked local apples and pears from Narooma and pumpkin hummus (pumpkin from SAGE's next door neighbour, Ray).
