Contact us nowWhat will I do? SAGE has a stall at the weekly Tuesday market and volunteers set the stall up, and help customers with information and seed sales etc. Drop in on any Tuesday and chat with the friendly crew on the stall to see how it works, and you can be added to the roster.
When: Tuesday afternoons from 2.30pm to 5pm in Moruya.
Where: Riverside Park in Moruya.
What will I do? This team maintains the SAGE Garden. You might be pruning various fruiting varieties of plants and weeding and feeding established garden beds, plantings seedling, mulching and other seasonal growing tasks.
When: Every third Saturday in Moruya from 9am to 11am. No rosters, just turn up.
Where? The SAGE Garden in Queen Street Moruya
What will I do? Meet and chat with other like minded sharers and put your excess garden produce, seeds, plants, home made preserves, used tools, flowers, worms, used gardening books on the sharing table. Or just come along and see what's available - you don't have to bring anything. A great place to share gardening tips too!
BYO cup, and anyone is welcome to bring cake to share!
When? Every third Saturday in Moruya from 10am.
Where? The SAGE Garden in Queen Street Moruya.
What will I do? This group do the heavier maintenance and construction work around the SAGE Garden and sometimes at Stepping Stone Farm. Mowing with a ride-on, building things, fixing things, sorting things, chopping things, playing with tractors
When? As needed. You’ll get an email or call (or a secret handshake) when a job needs doing asking if you can help. Or you can go on the regular mowing roster.
Where? Usually at the SAGE Garden in Queen Street Moruya.
SAGE donates fresh produce to local welfare groups such as the Moruya Women and Children’s Refuge, the Moruya Youth Refuge, people in need through our local Anglicare office and several other organisations.
What will I do? You’ll work in a group and help plant, grow, water and maintain vegetable and herb beds, and some help pick and deliver food.
When? Wednesday mornings 9am to 10.30am, followed by BYO morning tea in the shade.
Where? SAGE Garden in Queen Street Moruya.
What will I do? You’ll be part of a small group working alongside our co-farmers, interns and experienced volunteers helping with planting, picking, bed preparation, weed control and general maintenance.
When? 8am to 12am Thursdays
Where? At the SAGE Stepping Stone Farm, 8 km west of Moruya along Araluen Road.
Stepping Stone Farm is our training farm for new growers. It’s a working market garden with all associated infrastructure, tooling, vehicles and machinery to ensure a viable market farming business.

Coordinating the Farmers Market weekly volunteer roster
This takes about an hour a week or less. The weekly roster is usually planned out about 6 months in advance and the coordinator emails a reminder once a week, and contacts people by email or phone when changes need to be made.
SAGE NSW Inc is a not-for-profit incorporated organisation with a volunteer hands on management committee, and five sub committees. The management and sub committees meet monthly or as needed and as agreed by the members, and include the Farmers Market, Veggies for All, Catering and Events, Community Food, SAGE Garden Maintenance and Working Bees.
What will I do? This team plans the event and workshop calendar and provides the catering, feeding us with local produce. You’ll prepare and cook food; plan, coordinate, set up and manage venues, and help with promotion.
When? As needed.
Where? SAGE Garden in Moruya, with the occasional event elsewhere.
